When we started out with our unschooling journey, we felt a little like knights in shining armor freeing ourselves from our own self-imposed shackles. Hence the name of the blog.

Its been a long while since I posted.  We've had Sandra's trip that ended a few weeks ago.  Photos are cataloged by Sandra here: http://sandraindia2010.blogspot.com/  I will post back her photobucket link if possible for more photos.  It was an intense, look-see at India... very refreshing to see India thru new eyes. We enjoyed Diwali with her at my parents home in Bangalore.  We celebrated Halloween at our home with 15 odd families from our local homeschooling community. We ended with a cultural day at Urmila's house a few hours before Sandra's flight.

Chitra and her daughters visited a local homeschooling family who lives on our street.  Chitra came from Coimbatore to visit Sandra and meet homeschoolers here in Pune.  It was fab for Zoya to hang out with the girls.

I will post photos to cover this past month as there is simply too much to recount.  My parents are here visiting and as usual are game for a lot of things including unusual dress ups, playing choo-choo with the kids and being awesome baby sitters. They are enthusiastic and helpful.  I'm so happy they are here.

We also undertook an over night bus journey to Dharwad. Just me and kids!!  It was a biggie for us as i had never taken public transport long distance without another adult around.  we have no photos of the trip as it was a very in the moment Zen like time for me.  I went with the flow.  We enjoyed Sanjeev Kulkarni's farm immensely.  Raghu fished, hung out in a pond (weeds, mud and all!), Zoya played in neck deep pond water and made an adult friend :-), etc.  It was beautiful weather and very refreshing to be out in the open amidst beautiful terraced farm land.  Raghu and Z enjoyed some new foods.

Zoya learned bicycling!!  She took off yesterday and had a blast all day around our complex.  Its been a lot of fun for her... a whole new activity opened up for her.   All in all a very eventful year coming to a close.  So much learning, changing, growing... oh yeah speaking of growing... i now officially have twins for all practical purposes... as Zoya and Raghu are the same height as of this past month :-)
